Вчера провёл незабываемый вечер в чате с представителями службы клиентов фирмы Пинакл. Почему понадобилось с ними"чатовать"? Да потому, что обещаный читателям моего ЖЖ фильм, снятой камерой выского разрешения, был-таки смонтирован. Вначале потребовалось конвертировать файлы в формат, который принимает Пинакл – с этим успешно справилась программа Самсунга, шедшая в комплекте с камерой. Были затем вставлены музыка, титры, фото, эффекты, всё, что можно. Результат получился в семь минут и очень понравился мне и Светику, которая снимала фото.
Всё расчудесно, кроме одного – фильм не желал сохраняться на файле. Ни в одном из форматов. Убив множество минут на сохранение беременности кина, полазив по форумам (иногда они полезны, но далеко не всегда, потому что случай у каждого свой) я решил, что не зря же покупал легальную версию, и зарегистрировавшись на сайте Авид, вступил в чат с неким Эндрю Зальдиваром:

Andrew Zaldivar: The export error that you get when you try to export the project means that some part of the poejct did not succfully render during the editing process. Much better if we will re-render the project that you have created. Just follow the steps below.
Andrew Zaldivar: – click file
– click delete auxiliary files
– select option 3 then click ok
Andrew Zaldivar: Then in the Pinnacle Studio
go to Setup -> Video and audio preferences.Then in the Pinnacle Studio
go to Setup -> Video and audio preferences. Try checking the following boxes: Enable full-resolution preview, Enable hardware acceleration, Enable background rendering.
Close the pinnacle studio then open it again.
Next, Increase the priority of the Studio application in Windows. Here is how to do that:
• With Studio open, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete on the keyboard. This will open the Windows Security window.
• Select the Task Manager button. This will open the Windows Task Manager.
• Select the Processes tab.
• Locate Studio.exe in the list.
• Right-click on Studio.exe and select Set Priority.
• In the Set Priority section, try selecting High.
• Once the change is made it will prompt a warning asking if you are sure you want to change the priority class. Select Yes to this.
Andrew Zaldivar: Once you see the green color in the timeline please ait until the green color turns to orange which means that the rendering process is finish.

Окрылённый успехом стал сохранять видео. Через минуты две всё сорвалось снова и появилось сообщение об ошибке с другим кодом. Пошёл в чат снова. Соединился.

Jaesm Fernandez: Does the error message appear in a specific point or does it appear in random parts of the project during Make Movie?
Alexandre Nikolaev: it is random. Sometimes it is at the start, sometimes it goes on for a couple of minutes and then appears. I have just retried with MPEG-2 and looks like it works so far
Alexandre Nikolaev: But it saves a 3 minutes file which was initially alright. When I try another one (7 minutes) – it gives an error. I know that it was not rendered properly, but how should I know when it is not OK?
Jaesm Fernandez: Before you went to Make Movie, you deleted the auxiliary files, right?
Alexandre Nikolaev: Right
Jaesm Fernandez: After deleting the auxiliary files, were there any green parts in the thick orange bar above the project timeline?
Alexandre Nikolaev: Actually, it is all green with some tiny orange strips
Jaesm Fernandez: Okay. Actually you will need to wait for it to turn completely orange before going to Make Movie.
Jaesm Fernandez: When there are green parts in the thick orange bar, it means that the background rendering process is still on going.
Alexandre Nikolaev: As we chat I started saving in MPEG-2 and it is already on the 4th minute
Jaesm Fernandez: Okay.
Alexandre Nikolaev: OK, it reset on the 5th minute and there is an error message 0/12220
Alexandre Nikolaev: The movie is not saved.
Jaesm Fernandez: Okay. Close Studio, then follow the procedure below.
Jaesm Fernandez: Can you please hit on the windows key and the R key on your keyboard, a run window will appear, type in there %temp% and hit enter. Delete all deletable files inside the TEMP folder.
Jaesm Fernandez: Okay.
Alexandre Nikolaev: deleted
Jaesm Fernandez: Okay. Now re-launch Studio.

Jaesm Fernandez: Open your project in Edit mode and follow these background rendering process.
1. Click on View > Timeline
2. Click on Setup > Video and audio preferences > uncheck Enable background rendering
3. Click on File > Delete auxiliary files > Delete the one for your project
4. Click on Setup > Video and audio preferences > check Enable background rendering
5. Notice the Timeline to go green, wait until it goes back to orange again before proceeding in making the movie.
6. Export the project as an MPEG-2 video. Update me with the result.
Alexandre Nikolaev: I am sorry, but it does not look like going to orange. It stays green all the same. I guess it should not take SO long…
Alexandre Nikolaev: Oh, yes, there is a slight movement, it turns gradually orange by pieces, but boy it takes so long!
Jaesm Fernandez: It takes quite a while depending on the complexity of the project or the resolution of the videos.
Alexandre Nikolaev: And I have a 4 core i7 PC and 8 gigs of memory! Is it normal?
Alexandre Nikolaev: Yes, the video is FullHD 1080/60 fps
Jaesm Fernandez: Yes, it takes quite a while to render high resolution videos Alexandre.

Jaesm Fernandez: I know it is quite frustrating to wait for the background rendering to finish..I use Studio myself at home and whenever I create a project, I do experience what other users experience and I know how you feel right now.
Jaesm Fernandez: It’s like you want to throw the software out and buy a new one but you can’t since you invested your hard earned money into it.
Alexandre Nikolaev: Right. But it is improving nevertheless and hopefullu Avid will take care eventually of these problems. Looks like it is very close to the end. Yes, it is competely orange!
Jaesm Fernandez: Okay. Go to Make Movie, select MPEG-2, preset should be DVD compatible and then try to export it again. Let us cross our fingers. 🙂
