THIS woman is desperate for corrective surgery after her bum implants leaked into her FEET. Luara Butiellys Nunes Coelho, 31, from Brazil, had industrial silicone injected into her buttocks 10 years ago – but says she is struggling to get help, and as a trans woman “has already faced so much prejudice”.

But now the care home worker is now suffering from pain and swelling after the silicone started to leak down into her feet a number of months ago.

She is currently in a battle to get an MRI scan and an operation to remove the silicone on the Brazilian public health service.

She told local media: “The doctor told me that as long as the silicone is not removed, I’ll continue to have an infection and it will worsen.

“It’s very sad and it hurts a lot. I’m taking morphine for the pain.”

According to Coelho, the doctor who saw her at an urgent care centre in the Brazilian municipality of Aparecida de Goiania told her that if she does not have the op, her feet could suffer necrosis and have to be amputated.

She told local media: “I’m 31 years old, I work and I want to continue working. Work has changed my life for the better. I need to work, I can’t lose my feet.

“My fear is that it (the silicone) is starting to go up my leg and is forming lumps. It could reach other parts of my body.”

Over the past two months, Coelho’s pain has worsened, and she has spent most of the last 30 days interned in different health centres.

“They keep passing me from one centre to another. Nobody does anything.

“We, transsexuals, have already suffered so much prejudice.

“I think the [Brazilian public health service] should welcome us better and be more understanding,” she told local media.

Coelho has so far been unable to get the treatment she needs after being denied appointments due to lack of referrals and beset by delays and cancellations.

However, she has recently managed to get a specialist consultation scheduled for 6th January that she hopes will bring her one step closer to the operation she desperately needs.
